As a traveling parent choosing airports that cater to children can make all the difference in a smooth travel experience. In light of this TravelPulse has conducted a survey to determine the most and least kid-friendly airports in the US.
Topping the list as the most kid-friendly airport is Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. This airport not only offers play areas but also a children's theater where they can watch movies and interactive exhibits. Additionally parents can take advantage of their dedicated nursing mothers' rooms and family bathrooms.
Close behind in second place is the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The airport boasts an impressive five play areas throughout their terminals suitable for children of all ages. Parents can also take advantage of free stroller rentals and a family restroom equipped with a changing table and nursing station.
Not far behind in third place is Chicago O'Hare International Airport followed closely by Orlando International Airport in fourth place. Both airports offer nursing rooms family restrooms and children's play areas throughout their terminals. Orlando's airport even has a separate "KidZone" for children to play and interact.
On the other end of the spectrum the least kid-friendly airport is Newark Liberty International Airport. Despite recent renovations the airport still lacks amenities for children with only one play area for tots.
Other airports that ranked low on the list were Miami International Airport LaGuardia Airport and Boston Logan International Airport. While they offer basic amenities for families such as nursing rooms and family restrooms they lack designated play areas for children.
